Indicator 3.3.4 - Hepatitis B infections
Data for indicator 3.3.4 depicts the rate of Hepatitis B incidence in San Diego County. The infection rate dropped to 18.84 per 100,000 people in 2020, the lowest of the years presented in this dataset. The target, set by the United Nations, is to reduce this rate to zero by 2030.
The line graph below shows Hepatitis B incidence rates for San Diego County by year. The number of chronic cases had remained stable from 2016 through 2019 but experienced a 30% drop in 2020 to 630 cases.
The bar charts provide additional details on the number of chronic and acute Hepatitis B cases per year.
While the number of acute Hepatitis B cases varies from year to year, the overall number is small, ranging from less than 3 to 13 per year.
