Border Wait Times

This page contains data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Wait Time database. For this data, wait time is defined as the duration of time (in minutes) between entering the end of the queue and reaching the primary CBP inspection booth when crossing from Mexico into the U.S.
Crossing types include:
  • Pedestrians
  • Passenger vehicles
  • Commercial vehicles (or cargo trucks)
Lane types include:
  • Standard
  • Ready (pedestrians and passenger vehicles only)
  • FAST (commercial vehicles only)
  • Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) (personal vehicles only)
Each border location updates its estimated wait times hourly, and data is aggregated to the daily average level.
