SDG Indicator 16.1.1

Indicator 16.1.1: Number of victims of intentional homicide per 100,000 population.
The data describes the number of intentional homicides and homicide rates (per 100,000 persons) within each jurisdictional area and within the San Diego County. The data is curated by SANDAG for the years 2015 to 2021.
The three measure cards below only report homicides rates for the City of San Diego.

Homicide Rates by Jurisdiction (2015-2021)

The four legend colors are based on quartiles. The first quartile contains all the observations where the homicide rate was 0. All observations with a non-zero homicide rate were divided into the remaining quartiles.

SANDAG compiled crime statistics for the San Diego region through a cooperative agreement with local law enforcement agencies across the 18 incorporated cities and the unincorporated areas of the county.
